COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING ASSOCIATION
The Computer Science and Engineering Association (CSEA) of College of Engineering Guindy is an association with a legacy of more than 10 years, established for the primary goal of "Knowledge Advancement". Being the brainchild of Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DCSE) of CEG, one of the oldest engineering colleges of the country, the association ensures that the role of technocrats and specialists in various industries is implied. It extends to develop and promote the progression of Computer Science and technologies to its students as well as the members of the global community through its rich alumni support. Comprising students and faculty, CSEA is one of the most active Engineering Associations in the city.
Engineering being a rewarding career, CSEA thrives to provide updated resources and a highly developed structure that facilitates an interactive environment for the students and the faculty.
The association also attempts to conduct classes on various topics for the students with the classes being taken by the students, hence can rightly be stated the association by the students and for the students.
Aiming to bring Computer Science Engineers all around the globe towards a common ground, it helps motivate one another towards creating a better society and spreading awareness about technological innovation and advancements.
Sync is an intra-college symposium hosted by the Department of Computer Science. This symposium identifies and nurtures the talent within the college through a variety of events organized by the students. With overnight hackathons, workshops, and coding events, the one-day symposium is a skill showcasing platform for budding computer science professionals. Moreover, the symposium promotes creativity among the students through diverse non technical and management events.As an add-on , Sync also promotes inter-department collaboration and interdisciplinary activities.
The activities of the association culminate with the annual technical symposium- ABACUS. With its growing success year after year, the symposium attracts students from various colleges to take part in the events. The events are aimed at bringing out the talents of the students by conducting a series of competitions. These events include technical events such as hackathons, workshops, all night coding events and a few non technical events too. Abacus also hosts professional seminars by companies that are looking for efficient engineers, providing a multitude of opportunities to young minds seeking internships. The association keeps working around the clock to provide a platform for the students to showcase their technical flair and bring out what's best in them.
The Freshers Day is an event conducted every year in January, to welcome new students into the department with a variety of fun and creative events that unleashes the knack of the students in various aspects. This event seeks to kick-start the relationship between junior and seniors, where the seniors provide a heartwarming welcome to the juniors and aspire to start working and learning with them. Piloting the interactive environment of seniors and juniors, it paves way for the juniors to explore themselves and unwrap their potential.
The alumni meet conducted every year in December, is an event where the alumni of the department come together to promote and foster interaction amongst the alumni and the students. The event ushers communication between Students and alumni by directing them into multiple groups and a variety of fun and creative events follow where they work together. The alumni share their experiences which guide the students about the opportunities in industries and various other aspects in the real world. They also bring up various fruitful opportunities to the association.
